The Royal Coast Walks Whale Watching Tour is a one-day walking adventure through Sydney’s Royal National Park.

This is graded as an easy difficulty walk as it is relatively flat for the duration. We walk up to 12km over 8 hours.

Last year, volunteers for the National Parks and Wildlife Service counted more than 1900 whales passing nearby, mainly humpback whales, while minke whales came in as the second most popular sighted.

Tour Itinerary:

The walk includes:

• Return ferry fare from Cronulla to Bundeena 
• Expert guide with commentary 
• Royal National Park entry fees 
• All food for the duration of the trip. Lunch consists of ham/chicken and salad rolls, morning and  afternoon teas are fruit and muesli bars. Nuts and dried fruits for energy snacks are also provided, as is a sports drink. It is necessary to bring your own water, approximately 3 litres each.

Highlights:

8:30am  Depart Cronulla on ferry for Bundeena.

We cover up to 12km on an 8hr walk (includes photo, rest and lunch breaks). We also sit on the cliff tops for whale watching for several hours in this time.

Experiencing ancient Aboriginal carvings, bizarre sandstone formations of Wave Rock, Prawn Rock, The Devil’s Dice and the White Cliffs of Marley.

Although we can’t guarantee you will see a whale, it is a rare day we don’t during their May-November migration.

Lunch time is flexible, as are morning and afternoon break times. 

5:00pm Ferry departs Bundeena, arrives back at Cronulla at 5:30pm.

Cancellation:

Tours will run in any weather conditions except where the National Parks and Wildlife Service deem it too dangerous, i.e. in extreme fire danger. If you wish to cancel a tour for any reason the following conditions apply:

More than 14 days before departure: 100% refund

Between 7 and 14 days before departure: 50% refund

Between 3 and 7 days before departure: 25% refund 

Less than 3 days before departure: 0% refund
